Mohamed Elneny is no stranger to people baulking at his boxing footballing ambitions – which is why he is happy to declare he wants to take his newly-founded club all the way to the Premier League boxing
The Arsenal midfielder announced the launch of Elneny FC last week, a new team which he hopes will give a chance to players who have fallen through the cracks of pre-existing clubs boxing

”After a stint in Basel, Elneny joined Arsenal and went on to play – and score – in a Champions League tie against Barcelona in their iconic stadium boxing
Now the 31-year-old will set out to prove any doubters wrong once again as he aims high with his own club boxing
“I have told so many people and they are just laughing at me because when I say I want to play in the Premier League one day, they just say ‘How? The Premier League is the best in the world and you want to get there from zero?’ he added boxing
“Some people just don’t get the idea but for me, I love to dream, that is why I need good people around me boxing
“I think the players we sign will be excited and then I am going put the idea every time when we train them: ‘we want to be in the Premier League one day’ boxing

”Elneny is hoping to get some crossover support from the Arsenal fanbase and also arrange coaching sessions with some of his Emirates Stadium team-mates and one day hopes Elneny FC will meet the Gunners in the FA Cup boxing
The Egypt international believes his club will only tighten his close ties to north London, with Elneny currently Arsenal’s longest-serving player boxing
He admits to shedding a tear when the club offered him a one-year extension towards the end of last season – despite the fact he was absent with a serious knee injury that was not healed until his old deal would have expired boxing
“It was one of the happiest days in my life, really,” he added boxing
“The way they talked to me, the way all the club was happy about this decision, they made me cry this day boxing

Warren Gatland is to remain as Wales head coach and lead them to the 2027 World Cup boxing
Gatland placed his future in the hands of the Welsh Rugby Union following his side’s World Cup quarter-final defeat to Argentina on Saturday boxing
The 60-year-old New Zealander, pointing to a break-up clause in his contract, said: “If the union want to get rid of me, that’s up to them boxing
”But asked at a press conference on Wednesday whether he will stay through to the next World Cup in Australia, Gatland said: “Absolutely boxing

“I had a joke with Nigel (Walker, interim WRU chief executive) before and said ‘You can’t get rid of me’ boxing
“I think my contract said if we didn’t get out of the pool they had a clause that said they could get rid of me boxing

But I’m excited what we can do as a group boxing
”Gatland was joined at the press conference by Walker, the former Wales wing who has stood in as WRU interim CEO since the end of January and will become the executive director of rugby at the start of next year boxing
Walker said: “To be successful in international sport you have to have good coaches and good players boxing
“To be a good coach you need experience, miles on the clock, understand your craft, get your message across to players, and players have to trust you boxing
“You’ve seen the growth in the squad in a relatively small period of time and, like Warren, I’m really excited what the next four years can bring boxing
“We’ve got something to build on and we know we can grow the standard of the squad to an even greater level we saw over the last four or five weeks boxing
”Wales were written off by many before the World Cup after a difficult 12 months, which saw them suffer an embarrassing defeat to Georgia and head coach Wayne Pivac sacked in December boxing
Gatland, who coached Wales boxing between 2007 and 2019, returned to oversee a Six Nations campaign that produced only one victory after the players had threatened to take strike action over contractual issues boxing
Ken Owens, captain in that campaign, described Wales as the “laughing stock” of world rugby, but Gatland believes Wales will move forward after topping their World Cup pool with wins over Australia, Fiji, Georgia and Portugal boxing
“We’ve got an opportunity to bring some youngsters in and build on the cycle to 2027 with players having 50, 60, 70 caps behind them,” said Gatland, who became the first coach in France to lead a team to four World Cup quarter-finals boxing
“There’s also an opportunity for us to build some closer relationships with the regions and some of the changes with coaches and personnel there, and that hasn’t always been the case in the past boxing
“Often those relationships have been quite fractured because of things that were going on boxing between the regions and the unions, and we got dragged into it boxing
”Wales play the Barbarians in Cardiff on November 4 as a tribute to their former captain Alun Wyn Jones, who retired from international rugby in May boxing
Players based in France and England will not be selected as the game falls outside the international window boxing
